OUR HISTORY
Started as a simple machine shop in 1947 by Clayton G. Hill, C.G. Hill & Sons Inc. has evolved from these humble beginnings into an equipment manufacturer whose products are in use throughout the world.
Through three generations, we have moved beyond our first patented Hilco bag closing machine to grow into the state-of-the-art custom equipment manufacturer we are today. From small-run parts manufacturing to custom-designed and built equipment, C.G. Hill & Sons Inc. is the one manufacturer you can count on to deliver a quality product, on time and at a reasonable cost.

1947
C.G. Hill & Sons was founded when the Cee Gee Go-Kart shop opened as a go-kart and snow blowing machine manufacturer.
1953
In 1953 the company moved to a 1,000 square foot building on Washington Ave in Minneapolis. The larger facility allowed C.G. Hill to begin complete machine manufacturing.
1957
In 1957 C.G. Hill moved to a larger 1,200 square foot building in Northeast Minneapolis. This move allowed the manufacturing of larger equipment including our Hilco Bag Closing Machine.
1975
In 1975 C.G. Hill built a new 15,000 square foot facility in St. Anthony. The increase in capacity allowed for larger machine builds.
1995
In 1995 our current headquarters opened in Mounds View. The 32,000 square foot facility ushered in the era of C.G. Hill as a manufacturing integrator.
2007
By 2007 the demand for our integration services warranted the addition of 16,000 square foot of assembly and manufacturing space.
2016
With the success of C.G. Hill as a complete machine integrator, the need for more capacity was addressed with the leasing of a 25,000 square foot facility in the same industrial park as its headquarters.
2019
In 2019 the company added another 30,000 square foot assembly facility located in the same industrial park. This brings C.G. Hill to more than 120,000 square feet of manufacturing and assembly space to serve your custom machine building needs.
